Acting Chief Stephen D. Chaput reports that the suspect in a break-in at a local restaurant was arrested today in Franklin, New Hampshire by the Franklin Police Department.
CHAD AUDETTE, AGE 40, who is believed to be homeless residing in Lowell, has a warrant out for his arrest on charges of:
- Breaking and Entering into a Building in the Nighttime with Intent to Commit a Felony
- Larceny from a Building
An arrest warrant was issued for AUDETTE after he allegedly broke into the Village Inn restaurant in Dracut on Monday, July 20. AUDETTE is also wanted for questioning in connection with several other nighttime break-ins that have occurred within the town over the past several weeks.
AUDETTE is expected to appear in court in New Hampshire and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office Extradition Coordinator is working on the process of having AUDETTE extradited back to Massachusetts.
Chief Chaput would like to commend the efforts of the Dracut Police officers involved in the investigation and all of the other agencies that helped lead to the arrest of AUDETTE.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
