DRACUT — Chief Peter Bartlett reports that the Dracut Police Department is actively seeking a suspect in connection with an armed robbery that occurred at a convenience store Tuesday.
At approximately 8:51 p.m. on Oct. 10, Dracut Police were dispatched to Michael’s One Stop, 115 Hampson St., for a report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect entered the store wearing a disposable dust mask and ordered the clerk to open the cash register and get onto the floor.
The suspect then began retrieving money from the cash drawer and again ordered the clerk onto the floor. Once the subject retrieved the money, he began to leave the store but paused to order the clerk to get on the floor again, motioning as if he was going to pull a weapon from his waistband, before finally exiting the store and fleeing.
The suspect is described as a light skinned male between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds. In addition to the mask, he was wearing a black hat, a gray shirt with cut off sleeves, tan overalls and construction style gloves.
Dracut Police are asking anyone who believes they may have information that could help identify the suspect to call 978-957-2123.

DRACUT — Chief Peter Bartlett reports that the Dracut Police Department has charged the man who allegedly robbed TD Bank yesterday.
MICHAEL DEXTER, AGE 55, OF LOWELL, is charged with unarmed robbery.
On May 24, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Dracut Police responded to TD Bank, 1255 Bridge St., on a report of a robbery.
Upon arrival, officers learned that a man had entered the bank and demanded money from the teller. He then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect was described as a white man, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, who was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and black mask.
Through an investigation, the Tewksbury Police Department, working with Dracut Detectives, learned that the suspect, who they identified as DEXTER, was staying at the Motel 6 in Tewksbury.
Around 11 a.m. today, Tewksbury Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle on 495. Upon approaching the vehicle, police identified DEXTER as a passenger and placed him under arrest. DEXTER was later released to Dracut Police.
DEXTER was booked at the Dracut Police Department and is currently being held pending his arraignment at Lowell District Court.
“The cooperative effort between the Dracut and Tewksbury Police Departments on this case was just superb,” Chief Bartlett said. “Tewksbury Police Officer Robert Bjorkgren and his colleagues were able to quickly identify, locate and arrest this suspect. Thank you to Tewksbury Police for their assistance.”
