In light of the persistent problems our communities have faced, in recent years, with reckless bikers operating dirt bikes and ATVs on public roads we have partnered to create the Merrimack Valley Reckless Bikers Task Force.
The primary agencies participating in this collaboration are the Lowell Police Department, Lawrence Police Department, Andover Police Department, Chelmsford Police Department, Dracut Police Department, Methuen Police Department, Tewksbury Police Department, and Tyngsborough Police Department.
The goal of this collaboration is to keep our streets and residents safe by strengthening our enforcement efforts as well as sharing information and best practices amongst our law enforcement partners.
The main focus of these efforts are those individuals operating dirt bikes and ATVs illegally on public roads, operating to endanger, weaving unsafely through traffic, riding on sidewalks, and impeding traffic. These reckless actions create a dangerous situation not only for the motoring public but also the operators themselves.
This partnership between our agencies highlights the seriousness of this issue and affirms our commitment to the safety of our residents.
