DRACUT — Chief Peter Bartlett reports that the Dracut Police Department is actively seeking a suspect in connection with an armed robbery that occurred at a convenience store Tuesday.
At approximately 8:51 p.m. on Oct. 10, Dracut Police were dispatched to Michael’s One Stop, 115 Hampson St., for a report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect entered the store wearing a disposable dust mask and ordered the clerk to open the cash register and get onto the floor.
The suspect then began retrieving money from the cash drawer and again ordered the clerk onto the floor. Once the subject retrieved the money, he began to leave the store but paused to order the clerk to get on the floor again, motioning as if he was going to pull a weapon from his waistband, before finally exiting the store and fleeing.
The suspect is described as a light skinned male between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds. In addition to the mask, he was wearing a black hat, a gray shirt with cut off sleeves, tan overalls and construction style gloves.
Dracut Police are asking anyone who believes they may have information that could help identify the suspect to call 978-957-2123.
