Chief Peter Bartlett and the Dracut Police Department are pleased to report that a 68-year-old man with dementia was located safe on Friday afternoon thanks to the assistance of the Lowell Police Department.
On Friday, March 24 at approximately 2:30 p.m., Dracut Police were notified that a 68-year-old man with dementia was missing from his home in the area of Skyline Drive.
Dracut Police, with assistance from the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council, began a large-scale search of the area and asked Lowell Police to check nearby parts of Lowell as well.
Approximately three hours into the search, Lowell Police officers responding to a report of a suspicious person on Franklin Street in Lowell located the missing man, who was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
“I want to thank our partners at NEMLEC and the Lowell Police Department for their assistance with this successful search,” said Chief Bartlett.
